The Struts, formed in 2012, are a world-renowned band from Derby, Derbyshire, England who are single-handedly reviving the glam-rock scene of the 1970s and 80s.
I designed this U.S. tour poster for The Struts in 2019. The band’s manager reached out asking for collateral for the release of their second album, “Young & Dangerous”. I worked in close collaboration with the band and their manager, who provided photo assets and creative input along the way.
RESET Bioscience, a CBD and advanced wellness company, is the first to use pharmaceutical grade ingredients, and processes, for its pioneering CBD product.
I designed these illustrations as part of RESET’s 2019 brand development and social media marketing initiative. Each illustration highlights a specific benefit of the product itself.
I developed these twelve preliminary concepts while working at Luckie & Co. as a part of the agency’s overall rebranding initiative for 2018.
These compositions were designed to work as part of a large system of specialized brand elements, altogether representing the new visual identity of Luckie & Co. More specifically, my task in designing these was to create a backdrop for official slideshow presentations and other digital content, large-scale in-office wall graphics, printed agency material, etc.
The Southeastern Conference is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. The organization’s official creed is “It Just Means More”.
”It Just Means More” is the motivation behind the work I do for the SEC. As a proud Auburn University alum, I have a deep personal investment in this brand. The SEC places a huge amount of importance on athletic and academic greatness, and both to an equal degree. Over the course of two years, I have worked closely with the SEC to help establish their presence as the premier American college athletic conference. Of interest is the distinction between “The Southeastern Conference” and the academic relations wing that exists independently, yet interchangeably. This dynamic creates a unique and fun design challenge. It has been an ongoing project to fully flesh out this dual-identity concept, but one that has been wholly successful.
“Make Hoppy Happen” was a cooperative initiative between o2ideas and Cahaba Brewing Co. One of my assignments at o2ideas was to design concepts for the posters and social media advertisements promoting the event.
"Local award-winning ad/marketing agency, o2ideas, has partnered with Cahaba Brewing to bring you an amazing, limited-edition double IPA called ‘Make Hoppy Happen.’
When you purchase one of these, all proceeds go to benefit the Mattie C. Stewart Foundation, whose mission it is to help educators, community leaders, and other interested groups reduce the dropout rate and increase the graduation rate through the creation of relevant and effective tools and resources."
Tenet Healthcare Corporation is a multinational investor-owned healthcare services company based in Dallas, Texas, United States. Through its brands, subsidiaries, joint ventures, and partnerships, including United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the company operates 65 hospitals and approximately 500 other healthcare facilities.
While Tenet is officially one client, in practice they are 65 separate ones. At Birmingham-based ad agency, Big Communications, I worked with marketing teams within each of these individual hospitals to create custom campaigns and patient PSAs. This was an interesting endeavor, because while all of these hospitals are subject to Tenet’s rules and regulations, no two healthcare facilities operate in exactly the same way. Each required a personalized approach in order to reach the specific patient demographic being served. Ultimately, the process of solving this unique design problem proved to be meaningful and fulfilling.
This was a project I completed while working at o2ideas. The agency I worked for was tasked with refreshing BBVA Compass's Volunteer Program Materials. I was given the responsibility of updating the existing newsletter template, chapter officer voting e-cards, email headers, and chapter guidebook cover page. This was all in an effort to ensure all of the volunteer program materials reflect BBVA's current brand.
These social asset samples were created in 2018 for Southern Research’s annual Change Campaign, which is an initiative that raises money for three critical research areas: cancer research, environmental science, and neuroscience.
While employed at Luckie & Co., I worked on numerous on-site and out-of-home campaigns for Regions Bank. This was a very interesting experience, as I learned much about the inner-workings of a top-tier financial corporation. When all 1,454 branches are accounted for, the amount of materials to be produced becomes immense. The organizational skills and broad scope perspective this kind of work requires are invaluable tools, which have aided me greatly in my career.
Each year, The Wharf at Orange Beach hosts a year-end holiday celebration called “Winter at The Wharf”.
I was tasked with designing on-site, out-of-home, and web/social assets to advertise the overall event and individual activities taking place. This was a fun campaign to work on for obvious reasons. It was also challenging, as it combined elements of coastal Alabama life with modern holiday motifs.
The Freewheeler is a bicycle-themed, seventies-inspired drinking/eating establishment located in the heart of Auburn, Alabama. The restaurant portion is open to the public during the day, and at night the pub goes into full-swing. The Freewheeler is decidedly cyclist-friendly, hosting community bike rides around Auburn and offering branded cycling merchandise. The pub also doubles as an alternative music venue, featuring local artists as well as the occasional big name.
This rebrand brings new life to an old entity, paying homage to history and tradition, while bringing a fresh identity to the table.
Stand Tall — Shop Small is an ongoing philanthropic freelance project I’m working on for Near To Me CBD in Birmingham. The owner reached out to me and requested an illustration to be printed locally on t-shirts and distributed at-cost to Birmingham small businesses to be sold to their customers. 100% of the profits from each sale go directly to the business owners.
